The reason given is perfect! 😂
(For the record all I did was disagree with their bullshit. Meanwhile they were incredibly insulting and childish as fuck towards me)
I’ll add:
They’ll never understand that while most everyone outside of their echo chamber thinks their politics may be ignorant and entirely misguided, people don’t hate them for it. No, they are hated for their hypocrisy, their arrogance and their condescending narrative that while sharing the exact same sewage system- somehow their shit doesn’t stink.
They are every bit as bad as MAGA, and in some cases… so much worse.

That’s… extremely dubious, especially considering that deleted comments are deleted for the user, not just hidden from others.
Still, they likely know the contents even if they can’t repeat it verbatim. Either way I doubt the mods on c/leftymemes decided to single them out from all the people defending Mamdani in the comments.
There are numerous comments in the thread by the user which were all deleted (as the mods likely used the ‘delete all comments’ option which results in the deleted comments not showing in the modlog). Which one should they be summarizing?
… the mod active in that thread is an open apologist for Russian imperialism, and one of the other mods site-banned a user (me) for downvoting things I disagreed with from one of their pet posters.
What makes you think they’re above petty or absurd bans?
Whichever comment they think likely contributed to the ban? As it stands we’re basically being asked to take their word that their ban is unjustified, and they absolutely sound like the kind of person who’d rightly get banned under rule 3. Yeah not exactly a case I’d argue in court, but in the absence of better evidence I’m far more inclined to believe the ban is justified than otherwise.
Maybe they’re not, but if this was a petty or absurd ban I’d expect to see more petty or absurd bans in the same thread given the large number of pro-Mamdani comments.
By their account, they were banned for disagreeing with the core argument being made (“For the record all I did was disagree with their bullshit.”)
The entire point of a petty ban is that someone is banned because they irritated the mod or one of the mod’s pets, not for violating a consistently-applied rule. Sometimes it’s by pushing back too hard against the mod, other times by hitting a soft spot or using an argument the mod doesn’t like.
Considering the remaining pro-Mamdani comments are pretty ‘gentle’ in their defense of Mamdani, I would be unsurprised if the ban was legitimately petty.
For that matter, calling support of Mamdani ‘liberalism’ (which any disagreement with the meme would necessarily include) is… questionable.
