I’d say someone who was 8 months or more gone was very pregnant, wouldn’t you?

A pause in conversation that is full of tension and expectation.
What comes after has the potential to change everything.Indeed, a good example would be the pause after a woman tells her partner “I’m pregnant” and waits for his reaction.
That expression means that the pause was full of something or was otherwise meaningful.
It’s not an expression I’d recommend using because it isn’t easily understood.
