I think nullification reminders are best served for hypotheticals that aren’t genuinely stupid and awful things to do. Hate Trump all you like, anyone who’s actually shining lasers at planes (instead of innocents with cat knickknacks getting targeted for no reason) is a gigantic idiot endangering everyone around that plane. There is no situation that calls for doing that.

In this case it was a cat toy that a secret service member claimed was aimed at Marine 1. Even IF, and that is a big if, he did aim it at Marine 1, the laser in that is not powerful enough to even go more than a few yards at best. Nobody was endagering anything in this case.

I very specifically indicated that I was talking about a hypothetical:

anyone who’s actually shining lasers at planes (instead of innocents with cat knickknacks getting targeted for no reason)

“In the most powerful city in the world,” the statement said, “the federal government spent scarce resources to make a felon out of a homeless man with nothing but a cat toy keychain.

Imagine having nothing better to do at work than take this case. You could be spending your time doing a single thing of value, and maybe even earn praise from people instead of just disdain. But no, this is what you do.

35 minutes speak loudly. I mean, very loud. Or. Was there really just no case to begin with? Don’t know as I was not there but I have my suspicions.
