Not at all. Sociology used to receive a healthy dose off investment in the past, as evidenced by complex and expensive full-town experiments. At some point it was decided that any and all suggestion that the current capitalist system could be amended or replaced was anathema, and basic research was verbotten. The steady march into capital hoarding and oligopoly progressed unimpeded since.
