In an Instagram live, [Cardi B] said that “little white girl said [the New England Patriots are] going to win. F–k that bitch!” She then immediately added, “I didn’t mean to say that.”

She absolutely meant to say that. What she didn’t mean was for certain red-hat-wearing politicians to take her words literally.

I mean, being a sports fan is trash talking… and it’s fine as long as it’s fun. I like to find out a guy’s team, and then trash talk another guy’s team in front of him, and then say “at least you’re not a _____ fan!” referring to the first guy’s team. Doesn’t matter who it is.

I mean, fuck it. A team from New York isn’t made up of people from New York. That’s just where the team is based out of. They trade all over. People aren’t rooting for a team, the roster changes every year. They’re rooting for a fucking brand. You say you like one team, but they’re playing against people who were on that team last year. So where does your loyalty lie? With the executives who own the brand? Fuck them. I talk shit about all the teams because I don’t owe any of them my loyalty. Also, I like the teams my friends like. I follow them on Apple Sports (it’s free if you have an iPhone) and we talk about it at work. Honestly it’s just water cooler chat, though. And it’s fun. The only game I watch is the Super Bowl. And this year looks like it’s gonna suck. Curious about the halftime show, but I don’t care about any teams left in playoffs. So, might skip the big game this year, and just stay home.
