Constantly when I try drag & drop on Dolphin & Firefox, the dragging stops mid-way before I stop holding left click, it’s a showstopper for me using KDE. I found others have this issue as well but is there anything I can about it? I’m using Wayland, NixOS, and a Logitech G604 mouse.

I have this problem with all my mice eventually because I mash the left click button too hard and it wears down the plastic that hits the button. Replace that mouse!

I help old folks with tech stuff and have seen this a few times, first step would definitely be trying another mouse. If you’re particularly attached to this one, putting a new switch under the clicker is a little annoying but very doable

Unfortunately the first result I found looking up your problem is probably your post on a different forum 😅

This on the other hand has some into that might help debug the issue https://superuser.com/questions/1645138/mouse-drag-releasing-itself-under-debian-gnome-3

Evtest will help you inspect mouse events and see what is causing the dropped drag. If the mouse events don’t pan out, another avenue to check out would be focus rules in KDE. Essentially if your drags are crossing the borders of windows there might be some edge cases regarding focus-on-hover behavior or similar settings. Could always be the mouse, but easiest way to test that is to see if the mouse does the same on a different system
