im not really a german cultural expert or knower of the germanic vibe, but it has never once occured to me that “wow these germans need to work more” should ever be said unless making an absurd joke.
People 50+ years make up 60% of the german electorate. They don’t exactly think germans don’t work enough, they don’t think young people work enough (to pay their pensions)
You know what else would fix pension funding? Higher wages. But somehow that idea never comes up in this context.
