When gaming with friends, many times we’ll share our screens simultaneously so we can help keep track of group members if we get split up.
Are there any discord alternatives with this feature?
Bonus points if it allows you to also toggle on/off the audio from the share separately from their microphone.
Commet is matrix based, can do screenshare (and whether by bug or feature you can atm share multiple screens using one account), looks similar to Discord and doesn’t lock any features behind a premium subscription.
(tip: change “join voice” permission from “moderator” level to “user” level or make your friends at least moderators in your voice room)
Commet has awful audio settings. There’s like none. Can’t even mute other players, no noise cancelling eithee. I want to like it but those are huge dealbreakers.
Another comment on here was mentioning that Matrix can only allow one user to share their screen at a time.
With Commet, can multiple users share screens simultaneously, or can only one user share multiple screens simultaneously?

Chances are they’re running into the issue with Element not displaying the arrows to switch between streams.
It is possible for everyone to screen sharing simultaneously however, the bug I mentioned above can make people believe it’s not possible.
Edit: Appears nobody made a bug report for it on GitHub, weird because this issue has occurred for months. #32559 for folks who are invested in this issue.
