Top Democratic officials who worked on the party’s still-secret autopsy of the 2024 election concluded that Kamala Harris lost significant support because of the Biden administration’s approach to the war in Gaza, Axios has learned.

The Democratic National Committee’s research on what went wrong in 2024 has been under lock and key since party leaders decided last year to hide it from the public — a reflection of how explosively it could resonate within the party and beyond.

Axios independently verified that Democratic officials conducting the autopsy believed the issue harmed the party’s standing with some voters.

The IMEU Policy Project is now accusing the DNC of withholding its report in part because of its findings on Israel.

Its wild that people that have devoted at least a portion of their lives to working in government would be so easily swayed by mere money, and arguably not a lot of money, to support a whole different government who is clearly doing horrific things. It’s not like these people are short on money either, they’re all wealthy, a lot of them millionaire wealthy.

Working in elected office means dancing when your donors say dance. It selects for people willing to do anything for an extra buck. Anyone who actually had principles wouldn’t make it through the gauntlet that is campaigning in the US, and that’s by design. Why do you think neither party seems interested in campaign finance reform?

I assume a lot of that is blackmail or pressure from people being blackmailed.

But that’s just as wild, so many people in so many governments have either been bought for a pittance or blackmailed and none of them have retaliated or given the blackmailers the finger and exposed them anyway. I would be furious if I was a member of a g20 government and some genocidal dickhead from Israel had the gall to try and first buy my vote and second blackmail me into submission. I’d make it my life’s mission to see them and their entire nefarious network exposed and rendered useless.

I’ve read blackmail allegations in different news stories for a long time, some in mainstream newspapers. Additionally federal USA politicians are usually not very nice people.

But even if one were to discount all that, the whole thing is, as you said, very weird
