Funny enough the US (and Canada) don’t seem to consider Mediterraneans fully “white.” You get people with Spanish/Italian/Greek heritage getting offended when they’re called white.
Neither did Hitler. Mussolini tried kissing his ass but he was never prepared to consider Italians equal to Aryans.
Also the Iranian guy they killed was paler than the average American, and in general Iranians have very fair skin but are not considered “white” by white supremacists.
It just shows how whiteness is an ever narrowing category and you, yes you, current white person, WILL eventually by excluded by it if the people who believe in whiteness (i.e. the Nazis) succeed.

As a result, in 1936 the Reich Cabinet issued a special decree exempting Iranians from any restrictions to the Nuremberg Racial Laws on the grounds that they were “pure” Aryans. Various pro-Nazi publications, lectures, speeches, and ceremonies, also drew parallels between Reza Shah, Hitler, and Mussolini to emphasize the charismatic resemblance among these leaders.
