Reagan was part of a litter someone had rescued. They couldn’t keep them due to a landlord dispute. I brought them in. Two cats took a trip on the kitten railroad to adoption.

One cat, Nixon, was unfit for adoption because he kept peeing in my bed. We found a spot for him on a local cat refuge.

That left Reagan. She didn’t pee the bed. She was also completely unable to be tamed. And, as you can tell, she is a long hair. This is Lesser Carolina. A horrible place for a long hair to live.

The local SPCA said Reagan could be a “permanent foster.” She lives here. She isn’t ours. They will provide flee treatments and dewormer as needed. I will do whatever is needed to corner her to administer those treatments.

Occasionally I see her outside chasing mice. But that’s 50 yards away. It is rare that I see her in the house even though she spends most of her time in the house. She doesn’t like us. That’s her right. But we are here for her if she does need us. She is about to experience her first summer with us as an adult. I’m not looking forward to trapping her in the bathroom to pin her down to administer some flea meds but I know it’s coming.

I can only assume that she will like me even less after that. But as long as she goes out and comes back we will be here for her.

She’s very cute but I gotta wonder if she’d be less of an asshole if she wasn’t named after Reagan lmao… I mean I’d be mad too

The whole litter was named after presidents and she had the most attitude so she got that name. After a few hundred cats you get kind of desperate for names.
