Disney wants to keep their popular IPs alive and profitable as long as possible, far beyond their reasonable lifespan, so that type of character is irresistible to them. The audience isn’t forced to confront any uncomfortable ideas from that character’s growth and maturity. HEY look at the CUTE BABY wheeeeeee! He’ll NEVER AGE, like a CARTOON CHARACTER!! That kind of immutability is what porky wants more than anything else

    I have an incredible soft spot for star wars, especially the real dire legends slop like Star Wars: X-Wing and Timothy Zahn’s Thrawn trilogy. Pump that shit directly into my veins.

        I can’t believe how far star wars games have fallen, when the IP was acquired by Disney I knew it was inevitable. There will never be a Jedi Knight game where you can force choke stormtroopers and decapitate them with a light saber throw at the same time again.
