Disney wants to keep their popular IPs alive and profitable as long as possible, far beyond their reasonable lifespan, so that type of character is irresistible to them. The audience isn’t forced to confront any uncomfortable ideas from that character’s growth and maturity. HEY look at the CUTE BABY wheeeeeee! He’ll NEVER AGE, like a CARTOON CHARACTER!! That kind of immutability is what porky wants more than anything else

Agreed, and That makes werner herzogs appearance funny. He hates Hollywood slop and has never watched a star wars movie. But he also cried when he saw the baby yoda puppet for the firat time.
