The Supreme Court on Tuesday sided with a Christian counselor over Colorado in her challenge to the state’s ban on so-called conversion therapy for minors.

In an 8-1 ruling by Justice Neil Gorsuch, the court said that the state’s law, as applied to talk therapy provided by the counselor, Kaley Chiles, conflicts with First Amendment principles because it regulates speech based on viewpoint. Gorsuch wrote that the amendment “stands as a shield against any effort to enforce orthodoxy in thought or speech in this country.”

About half the states in the country have banned or restricted the practice that aims to change a child’s sexual orientation or gender identity.

Same. Republicans have destroyed my concept of religious tolerance. I never thought I’d sound like a reddit atheist, hell I got banned from reddit for standing up to a reddit atheist troll

But no, literally every bad thing that’s happened lately has been Fundementalist Christianity’s fault. I now see religion for what it is, a refusal to listen to science.

Hell I used to be pro-life, but Republicans legislating trans bodies radicalized me, made me realize how my cis sisters felt.

Did you know that Kentucky is so anti-science that transpeople now have to be treated under the DSM 3 there? DSM 3 btw counts being queer as a mental illness. Transpeople can’t even hold certain jobs for fear the public will catch our “social contagion” and become “gender confused”

I used to think that but too many people claim I can’t really be trans because “God made them male and female.”

News flash: God was invented by goat fucking sheep herders as a get rich quick scheme and to justify beating their wives.
