The largest review of medicinal cannabis to date found it doesn’t effectively treat anxiety, depression, or PTSD—despite millions using it for those reasons. Researchers warn it could even make mental health worse, raising risks like psychosis and addiction while delaying proven treatments. Some limited benefits were seen for conditions like insomnia and autism, but the evidence is weak. The findings are fueling calls for stricter oversight as cannabis use continues to rise.
???
all of this really 🤔
I mean, looking at the different reactions by people in this thread, it seems like there are a lot of therapy and medication skeptics (who i’m sure have many valid and understandable reasons for their skepticism) who use cannabis as their preferred treatment for mental health problems
I think what trips me up more is the wording of it being a concern to them, in the context of it being a perscription in a medical practice, but not in a recreational or self medication sense. My experience is that doctors wag their finger at you for partaking in the devil’s lettuce, so I guess I just find it hard to imagine a doc who would only perscribe their patient ouid.
i have a cbd beverage like once a month and i would love for the weed to do way more for me or for therapy to not be more harm than good, or for a pharmaceutical product that helps to exist.
depression caused by social and physical conditions isn’t a mental problem, it’s an everything else problem and when none of this shit works for people it’s because there’s no way for therapy or drugs to give me a positive reason to get out of bed.
Ime pharma meds are dogshit and mostly harmful for my ptsd. Weed is genuinely better than them all
