I suppose I should just go look for myself more thoroughly but I don’t suppose you can suggest where I should learn more about this? Is the risk to the tree mostly from infection?

edit: have found much information, disregard the request. (further edit to add that I’m actually having a hard time finding really good trustworthy information about this, there’s a huge amount of info that seems very recent and the use of the term “tree killing spike” on logging blogs. Idk if you do have a reputable source it would be great.)
