I’m doing my part in spreading awareness of this bill. Call your representatives this bill must not pass, this bill will have overarching consequences for everything we do online and fundamentally change the Internet and human behavior forever.
This if the official goal of the bill - To require operating system providers to verify the age of any user of an operating system, and for other purposes.
Everything you do past that initial login screen will be logged back to your official government ID.For instance, Today it might be cool you like the people in charge making this rule, tomorrow they can be out of office and someone else is calling the shots on what is and isn’t allowed to be accessed by their constituents.
Better hope that government agency collecting the IDs is using a first party and not a 3rd you’ve already seen data leaks and hacks out of the UK with this nonsense.
Notice how the bill states “Operating systems” as broad as that is it could be windows or Linux down to your Nintendo switches and even your tv and smart appliances it’s not clearly defined and “for other purposes” is doing a whole lot of heavy lifting
Your gonna have people out here saying they already know what I do online or I have nothing to hide this gives up any bit of anonymity you have left online from the moment you log in.
You already are granted no right to privacy out in public somehow making flock cameras cool and legal to track your every move, do not give up your remaining rights to privacy in this connected online world.
We can do something about this now or bitch and moan about it later.
Here’s others more credible than me talking about this.
