Hello, fairly new to lemmy and a enjoyer of FOSS here. I just wanted to ask if anyone of yall could teach me some stuff about guns, what are some good resources to learn, like how to use them and stuff, where i am we have very strict gun laws and i dont know if i can get a gun for a while. But i would like to learn. So please, teach me, give me resources and tell me what i need to know, thanks.
Honestly, a first step without getting involved with the military or having family and friends teach you would probably some form of hunter’s education classes. What’s actually offered is very dependent on the area where you live, but they are usually offered because you would need to take a course or a test to be allowed to hunt depending on laws. The courses don’t usually involve any actual hunting or violence against animals. But usually safety around guns and local laws about hunting. And usually firing a gun a few times, just to make sure you know how to load and fire it, not working on any proficiency in aim. But that should get you enough grounding to join a gun club or go to a shooting range to practice.
