The case for drinking alcohol. I've never seen it argued like this before. Usually it's a finger-shaking neo-Puritan saying "it's poison, it needs to be illegal just like weed!"

Yeah I’d like to know. I want to see the smug article that explains to me why me when I was in active addiction almost died from drinking was good and also my mom who drank herself to death was living her best life.

Amen to that. I can only assume that most pro-alcohol articles and videos are alcohol industry propaganda like the fact that every damn tv show everyone inexplicably has a liquor cabinet and always offers someone a drink when they come over for casual conversation.

I swear, this site. Why is there a “thumbnail URL” field separately? When is that ever used?

I use thumbnail url when posting video links because well, otherwise it doesn’t show a thumbnail for the video. You can copy the image from the YouTube thumbnail, upload it as a hexbear image, and use that url

Do they really need thumbnails? It’s just going to be the first screen of the video anyway. I tried uploading a separate thumbnail once and clicking on the link from the front page took you to the fullsize .jpg instead of the video link.

It greatly increases engagement if you want anyone to view your post

It doesn’t work. It just takes anyone who clicks onto the post on a big graphic instead of to the video.
