I think it’s worth considering that this website is extremely terminally online in a specifically entertainment-media-and-twitter direction and so Contra has more salience to them as a “breadtuber” (something many people here still bear some attachment to) than e.g. public intellectuals and the like. This is especially magnified by Nat’s method of constantly posting left-punching ragebait on Twitter to make up for the once a year upload schedule she’s on. Also there was the Palestine statement and I think at this point multiple subtweets directed at this site’s current Streamer Daddy. These factors combine to make her have a greater level of psychological salience for this audience even though she does not remotely merit it.

I agree with the other poster that she deserves the treatment like that other ragebaiting, compatible “left” asshole, because I certainly agree with you that there’s a severe bias and it’s counterproductive to everyone involved except for Contra, who gets more attention and thereby money with her bullshit.

Considering everything else about the site, from the general culture to their being defensive-to-merely-dismissive of characters like Philosophy Tube (outside of specifically criticizing her silence on Palestine), I don’t think the problem is that the site hates trans women. There’s probably something to be said for the more generic misogyny of how reactionary left-identifying people will, for example, talk about hating “white women” to smuggle in the real object of their hatred (women in general), especially since Contra very aggressively plays up the sassy girl boss “slay queen” stuff, but I don’t think that’s the same thing.
