Well, it’s not cheaper or better, it’s the same price and it’s identical.

So, local manufacturer for the same price and identical or China?

That’s just such a ridiculous hypothetical that it’s hard to engage with. The US doesn’t make cheap, good cars, and for those of us who live here it’s simply laughable that they ever could.

If someone came to me and said “here’s an ev made by an american company that’s as good as one made by a Chinese company”, I’d likely laugh in their face and then buy the Chinese ev if I’m in the market for a car. Because I simply would never believe the claim that an american company made a good electric car, and furthermore I’d assume whoever was trying to convince me that they had was probably a paid shill or a grifter of some description. And I’d almost certainly be right.

Alright. So usually hypotheticals have some point to them, some idea or argument you’re trying to use them to convey. Would you mind telling me what point you’re using this hypothetical to convey? Maybe then I can understand what answer you’re looking for. I am legitimately curious, I hope this doesn’t come off as trolling or dismissive!

I haven’t driven any Chinese cars. Sure would love to some day! Have you seen the range some of them get? And they actually make decent small cars too! I really hope they start getting imported to america in large numbers soon
