Like lobster rolls, wild blueberries are iconic in Maine. But heat and drought have set the plants back to a point where many small farmers are struggling against reduced yields and increased costs for mulch and irrigation.

Are wild blueberry farms not an oxymoron?
They’re farming wild-type blueberries which are smaller and more flavorful than the ones bred for size. They also float better in pancake batter so you end up with nicer blueberry pancakes.
