I built this using a cheap bike trailer for hauling kids that I picked up off the curb and an old steel bed frame.
The idea is that I can use it to haul bikes around that I am working on for customers in my local community.
My next goals are to:
- Move the wheels backwards by about a foot to improve handling and reduce scraping when going down curbs and driveways
- Obtain a bike hauler that attaches to the roof or tow hitch of a car to allow me to tow more than one bicycle at a time
This version is awesome though because it was made mainly using junk and swearing :)
So hang on, recurive_recursion makes a bike trailer to carry bikes?
?
It’s a crosspost showcasing the trailer that @cubism_pitta@lemmy.world made.
I’ll revise the title to make this clear as something went wrong it seems.🤔🙌
Oh, slly me! I didn’t click that cubism posted it…
Nice. As with any trailer, you want about 60% of the weight ahead of the trailer wheels. I doubt sway will be a problem at bicycle speeds, but that weight distribution should help keep it stable.
