Heard it around 2pm! Didn’t think much of it because there were storms here today, but at the time it wasn’t raining and the map showed no lightning in the area.

Sigh. Dr. Fred is at it again.

I heard it, it was pretty crazy. It was raining lightly and we were like… “That was… not… thunder”.

Unlike thunder it was a short boom (not rolling), it had a concussive aspect to it, it shook the house. I assumed it was local, perhaps a transformer blowing or something. But then someone told me there was a news alert about it saying it was heard across Eastern Mass. At that point I was like oh wow… then it had to be a meteor!

In retrospect, it could have been the sonic boom we heard (my initial assumption was that it must have been the airburst that we heard).

I know that most of the world’s surface is uninhabitable, but I’m still a little surprised that there hasn’t been a modern example of a major city being seriously damaged by a meteor

I tuned into emergency response channels at the time and they had no idea what was going on. They had reports of an explosion coming in from all over the place. At one point they sent units out to investigate a tumor that a basement has exploded.
