Perhaps I missed the setting, but I want blank username/password fields instead of selecting from available users if that makes any sense. On KDE Plasma if that matters.

Open settings > Login screen > set automatically login as user and session.
If you are annoyed by KDE wallet popup you can get rid of KDE wallet by disabling it or set the password to empty.
That’s reverse of what they wanted.

Yeah, on mine, Login Screen only sets auto login user and default user/session. No setting to configure to manual username entry.
Seems strange there isn’t an obvious way to make login more secure.
