    This is tactical. They intend to go quiet for a while and then surge back right before the referendum that shouldn’t be happening. They’re counting on people’s short attention span to give them time to organize the next offensive. What we need is people working just as hard on the other side trying to organize the counter offensive and shut down this absolute joke of a referendum. I really hope we can keep the momentum up and the pressure on instead of quietly going back to our silos. We need massive community organizing to put a stake through the heart of this monster, or mark my words, it will be back.

    I expect low voter turnout. I’ll go vote even though it feels dirty that I even have to.

      A lot of these separatists are yank wannabes. I suspect if someone were to map pro-separation sentiment to Trump approval in Alberta over time they would find a strong correlation. Well, Trump hasn’t had a great few months since early 2026 when the last poll was done. As goes his popularity, so goes the popularity of separatism.
