I am working on windows 10 currently. I was wondering if MX Linux could be installed directly from online. Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Possibly awful, but probably feasible, yet horrible idea:

    • format your Windows Recovery partition to fat32 from Windows using diskpart
    • assign the new partition a drive letter using Disk Management.
    • download the mx Linux installer ISO
    • extract it using 7zip to the partiton
    • reboot your laptop, go in to the bios by pressing F2, F10, F12 or DEL
    • find the secure boot option, turn it off
    • find the option to boot from a efi/uefi file, select the MX Linux efi file from the new partition
    • cross your fingers the installer starts
    • complete the installation. You will have to be careful to not wipe the installer partition, so you may need manual partitioning.

(or just use the usb stick you found).
