    I was thinking earlier that a lot of other software users could stand to be more entitled and demanding in the way gamers are.

    Sorta in the way whole reddit threads of users will pester devs to meet 60 fps optimization, but for like the battery usage of common apps. Amazon has a widely used text-file reader and audio player, and they’re both battery hogging dogshit (on top of Steam-style near-monopoly on digital publishing). Worse its ever been done. More people should be entitled and obnoxious about that.

      Thing is that if you’re playing a game for fun, there’s a million other games you could be playing at the drop of a hat.

      If you’re using generic software, most users don’t realise they can use something else, never mind how. If you’re using software to get something done, you’re lucky if there’s even one viable alternative. Either way, the vast majority of users don’t really have any leverage with which to complain.
