I loved aspects of my Smart car. But there’s no way I’d be able to justify what it was sold for as a new car - a compact 5 seater was the same price or cheaper, and there’s millions of them so parts and expertise would be in ready supply. €22,500 isn’t cheap
Wasnt it sold for ~$7500 in EU? It was only $10k in the US new, less than half the price of most US cars.
My recollection is that it was practically the same price as a compact car but I could be mistaken. 20 year old car prices are hard to find!
Compare this to a 4 seater EV, and 22k is a decent price. They’re just so great in cities.
Seems like it was $9k in EU, 12k in US.
Old car prices are easy to find, you just have to search for the MSRP
