    its people getting rid of their leaves that is killing them. Lightning bugs lay eggs on the leaves and they have to stay undisturbed until the eggs hatch or you still them. Everyone gets rid of their leaves now.

      yeah also agriculture kills a whole lot of bugs by regularly plowing the soil. insects lay eggs in the soil in autumn. if the soil is perturbed in late autumn or early spring, it kills the eggs.

      basically, we’re using the same land area to feed ourselves as insects would otherwise use. that’s what largely kills them.
