I’m not so sure if the Russian economy could gracefully pivot to peacetime productivity. That’s what I meant by deep, at this point I think they see conquest as their only feasible economic path forward. I’d love to be wrong, though.

It wouldn’t save Putin, but it would stop the bleeding for the economy. Both good things for the Russian people.
