I came across this blogpost/essay on Reddit (sorry). The essay is ostensibly about the Casio F-91W, but also about the oppressiveness of the internet of things and how technology often demands so much of our attention. I thought the Lemmy community might appreciate the sentiment.


Sure, but then why those years? Why not some kind of pattern? It also seems like they’re going to set up a before-and-after comparison, but they don’t, it goes old toaster, old tv, old phone, new phone, new thermostat, new car, everything. The dates and the items are so arbitrary, it doesn’t help them make their point imo.
