I’ll give golf its few places where it’s acceptable: Scotland, steppes, and natural hills and meadows. But all the golf carts have to be demolished, and all enclosed golf courses must be abolished.
Agreed. I don’t necessarily think that no golf courses should exist at all anywhere, but they should be super fucking unusual and only exist in places that tend to support them better. But I have a bit of a different perspective because my dad plays at a lot of small, rural clubs with sand greens that scrape by. Still not great (and also shouldn’t exist), but knowing about places like that helps foster a different attitude towards the possibilities. Many, many years ago, I played a few times at a (now closed) 9-hole course that ran on the honour system. That’s… Not exactly pebble beach.
