    Nice. I feel like this is pretty common for apple seeds. Even if you take the seeds from your favorite kind of apple, the shit that grows will be unpredictable.

      Yes, precisely! Apple cultivars stem from a single fruit, there’s actually very little difference between Apples, pears, and some other tree fruits

      Yeah the seeds from fruit/vegetables grown from seeds from big companies like Monsanto are programmed to not produce similar or viable fruit/vegetables so that farmers have to keep buying more seeds every year.

      Both that and the pollen that fertilises the flower might not be from the desired variety
