Michael Kirkbride got fired late in Morrowind’s development for drinking on the job. He was commissioned to write some stuff in Oblivion and again in Skyrim, in addition to reusing his older works.

Kirkbride wasn’t on Daggerfall so either he’s misremembering or he means Ted Peterson who wrote for all of them besides Skyrim
I may have fused both of them together, it’s been a while.
