Renting software is definitely on the other side of the spectrum where even availability and especially ownership are a not part of the product.
I don’t care how people use Linux. Like I said: You can do with it whatever you want. That is the phiilosophy behind it. But I think people should know that something like GamePass is in the end the same thing they tried to avoid when chosing Linux in the first place.

Idk how game pass is implemented a way, maybe there’s a way to keep playing after cancelling the subscription when this is open source.
