    Moneris

“The Royal Bank of Canada and Bank of Montreal announced earlier this week they would be selling jointly owned Moneris, one of Canada’s largest commerce solutions providers, to Francisco Partners for $2 billion.”

    Well THAT’s a step backward.

How did Canada make such a bad decision when the EU is running full speed in the opposite (correct) direction?

Maybe it’s because corporations do their own fucking thing. Politicians hold little sway even with all those laws they created to protect the corporations (oops…I mean the citizens). My hot water tank finally gave up the ghost a few months back. Thanks Carney! /s

I really doubt that. He has the negotiating instincts of an anxious chihuahua.

It’s okay if Carney was the best of all bad options at the time. Next time we can do better.

There’s still a lot of American fingers in our pie, one way or another, money still talks to the ones who won’t be held accountable for selling out Canada

I will blame Carney if the government doesn’t put a stop to this. At very least it should be held to the 10% foreign ownership that banks are.

We can hope, but the government has been too soft on corporations and “the free market” for a long time now. We’ll see if Carney has the spine to do it.
