Developers can release their work as a web app instead of going through Apple’s store. Alternative stores aren’t actually required. Its the app store that’s the issue. its apple preventing third party distribution on their platforms. no one cares about the store itself its the active and hostile approach apple takes to preventing distribution to their devices that doesnt go through their overly priced shitty store/payment systems. Webapps are not comparable to native applications for all situations.
