Portuguese broadcaster RTP reported that Tarling was struck by a vehicle that was not part of the race convoy and was travelling in the opposite direction.
Listen, I don’t want to be distracting attention away from this story, but please consider linking to a different source. GBnews is a disgusting, hate-filled mouthpiece of the british right. At the very least, not supportive of this communities’ view on automobiles.
I wasn’t aware of the history of the site, I just noticed it, read it, and posted it. I updated headline and link after reading your comment and seeing someone else’s link here in the comments just now! :)
Thanks for taking the time to do that. I totally understand that from the outside, some of these places just look like news outlets.
The video has nothing to do with this story. Bizarre post.
The video isn’t the story I linked though. The story was was at the link. There was no video in the story. But it’s been updated now.

After waiting, the driver is understood to have asked bystanders if he could join the road, and then drove on to the course, before the broom wagon had passed. “In that specific location, we know there were no officers present because it was not one of the locations prioritised in the assessment that had been carried out,” Catanario said.
“The vehicle was going in the opposite direction to the direction of the race. The cyclist [Tarling] cut across the curve on the left lane – as is natural, as [racing] cyclists do – and that is what caused the cyclist and the vehicle to collide.”
This was not the car driver’s fault, he was told the road was clear.
I updated the story with your link. Thank you!
