The comments on that article are horrendous. So many people defending the creep.

  • It’s refreshing to hear how the coworkers quickly acted well, and the the police also took action!

I can imagine how unjust and humiliating it must feel for the reporter. At least there is some retribution.

Right? Unfortunately this sort of crap happens to female reporters all the time and they don’t usually feel like they can stop reporting to deal with what is essentially an assault. Good job anchor person for calling it out and reassuring her that she had nothing to apologize for.

Good that she got to call the guy out!

Takes some courage to do that, nevermind on live tv. Props to the coworker too, who made sure to encourage her!

And he will be sentenced. I doubt he will see prison, probably just probation, but with video evidence like that it should be a quick case.

Between this and the soccer event, I feel like the Spanish authorities will want to make things especially difficult for this guy. If for no other reason than to appear to the world that they are not a sexist country.

No, I don’t think so. Spanish authorities are usually not moved by media circuses like this and don’t have to prove anything to the world. Things like this happen all the time everywhere, just google ‘guy kisses reporter’ or similar. It’s not a Spanish thing. And regarding Spain I found similar case from couple years ago where a guy kissed a reported and was sentenced to a fine. They didn’t need World Cup shit storm to apply the law back then and they will simply apply the law in this case.

      From the article:

A Spanish TV journalist was allegedly groped live on air by a member of the public

“Allegedly groped” it looks pretty obvious in the video, but the guy seems to deny having touched her, so I suppose they’re waiting for a court to decide, before saying anything for certain.

I couldn’t load the video, most likely due to pihole/adblocker, but from the pictures it looked like her lower back? How high up does her ass go?

Counterpoint: why tf is he putting his hands on her, a total stranger doing her job, at all?

Counter-counter point, remember when you could poke someone in the back to get their attention without going to jail for it?

Do YOU often go up to complete strangers and poke them in the back while they are working? Or is it only ok when it’s a woman getting poked by a rando?

In the video it looks like her ass. But either way the dude shouldn’t be touching her. He claims he didn’t touch her at all.
