Exhausted. Have a month old son (my first). He is a reasonably behaved newborn but he still beats my wife and myself down psychologically. I was so sleep deprived yesterday that the floaters in my vision kept jump scaring me. Despite this, I’ve never been happier.

Got an extra lap into swimming today. Feel like jelly.

I’m wondering if the steam room has any benefits. Or if it’s just for crazy people.

Tried to cook fondue on a iron skillet on an induction portable stove on the kitchen table. It kind of worked. But the oil was separating. I think 80C’s maybe too high

Tired. That’s usual though, I have terrible sleep habits and definitely don’t help that with weed.

Probably too much info for Lemmy randos but I cut out my SSRI a couple weeks ago due to lack of interest in dating, sex, and when I tried, a rarity in being able to orgasm. Plus I no longer have the same stressful environment that lead me to seek them out to help me with anxiety. Holy moly has that started to recover… The cranky waves that had been hitting after cutting it out are also reducing in frequency as well.

I cut out lexapro a few years ago after removing myself from a stressful situation (bad work environment) had the same issues with libido and whatnot. Hope it works out for you!

I appreciate the response. I was also on escitalopram. So far other than the expected brain shocks and moodiness, it’s been great. Both of those are starting to mellow out and reduce in frequency. How has it been for you since?

At the time COVID started, I was a developer working for a health department’s communicable disease reporting team. With automated case reporting…

I was so stressed out. I ended up leaving for my own mental and physical health, I was worried I was going to have a stroke or a coronary.

Glad you were able to extricate yourself from that situation as well!.

Im doing excellent now. That was about 2 years ago. There was a gradual improvement in all metrics over the course of about 6 months (i was on lexapro for 4 years).

I was working for a medical equipment supplier (respirators and defibrillators) over the course of covid. As you can imagine, the demand for our devices increased insanely over lockdown. The environment was already toxic pre pandemic so I had to get the heck out. Found a much better situation with much nicer people - kindof like reddit to lemmy. Lol

As far as going off the escitalopram - i recommend being gentle with yourself and taking one day at a time. Depending on how long you took it, it may be a longer or shorter process. When i rediscovered libido and everything that goes with that, i found that it was a little different. I had to recalibrate a bit physically. I found my way back from the dependency and now im in a happy fulfilling relationship with a newborn son.

          I wish you the best!

I’m bored (but not in a bad way). I wish I could hang out with people, but I have nobody around right now. I feel happier than ever, just can’t share it with anyone. I guess I’m just going to call someone and satisfy this extroverted phase that way.
