Perhaps most worryingly for Republicans, most Americans don’t think an impeachment inquiry into Biden is warranted right now. A GBAO/Fabrizio, Lee & Associates poll for The Wall Street Journal conducted in late August found that 52 percent of Americans oppose impeaching Biden, and only 41 percent are in favor. More recently, a YouGov poll conducted on September 13 found that 41 percent of Americans oppose impeaching Biden, 44 percent are in support and 15 percent don’t know. In early October 2019, when Trump’s first impeachment was getting underway, Americans were more closely divided, according to our polling tracker. And in the wake of the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, majorities of Americans supported Trump’s impeachment; a slim majority of Americans even consistently supported removing Trump from office before the end of his term.

From the beginning of the article:

McCarthy accused the Biden family of “a culture of corruption,” saying that the Biden administration gave Hunter “special treatment” in a criminal tax and gun investigation, and that Biden himself had lied about his knowledge of his son’s financial dealings.

“A culture of corruption”, you say?

Surely our anti-corruption crusader Kevin McCarthy would want to do something about all this historical corruption, right? Oh wait…he voted no to impeach Trump TWICE!? Surely this new impeachment couldn’t be politically motivated!?

Being able to act hypocritically, flout the rules and regs, and get away with it is political Viagra to these assholes. It’s what they live for. It’s impossible to “catch them” in flagrant acts of hypocrisy because the act of you noticing them being douchebags but not being able to stop them gives them massive power boners.

I just like to stay apprised of it so i have ammo in the off-chance that i’m having a civil conversation with someone that somehow doesn’t realize how hypocritical and morally-bankrupt the GOP leaders are.

Feels like “our guy is so bad”, we have to gin up a story that makes “their guy look worse” type of thing. Just surprising that so many people believe in the current Republican stupidity. Never though I would say it, but the majority of the party these days makes Romney, Liz Cheney, John McCain (may he rest in peace), Kristy, Kinzinger, Haley, Hutchinson, George W. Bush, and a few other normal republications start to look wonderful. Pence, not sure I could ever vote for him, but at least he is competent and more or less honest and I respect him for that. The rest seem not so much.

It sounds shitty for Biden (and the dems), too. The percentage supporting impeachment from August to September went up. Granted, those were different polls, and even with the same poll would likely be within the margin of error, but tit means that the unfounded smear campaign from the Republicans is at least holding steady, and possibly gaining ground. That sucks.
