He is a dictator who the US govt & some EU govts are currently appeasing, by ignoring his ongoing genocide of Muslims and Christians in India. These appeasements have emboldened him to carry out religion-driven political assassinations in foreign soil. Modi uses systemic violence against religious minorities within India (& now outside) for his personal political ambition, as it makes him look like a Hindu strongman for his Hindu supremacst followers. His religious extremeism driven politics & dictatorship has enormous support among Indians living/ working/ studying outside India. Their voices are the loudest on social media and they support him and his religious extremeist political party monetarily, socially, and politically.

The Atlantic has summed up the situation in its article https://www.theatlantic.com/international/archive/2023/09/canada-nijjar-killing-india-trudeau-sikh/675383/

The appeasement of dictators doesn’t work. They didnt work against Hitler, failed against Putin, and has turned countries into banana republics… But the leaders of the developed democratic west continue to be idiots who follow a failed script. They refuse to speak & act against dictators.

Yes I agree one caused a war on lies and deception, the second caused the pushing of another regime to openly support the same terrorists it was covertly supporting initially, while the third was only racist.

Well not because America gives so many opportunities to do it. They get by so many atrocities that would get any other country sanctioned to oblivion.

          • Overthrowing governments
          • Starting wars under false pretexts
          • Genocide for commercial purposes

The list could go on. America is not the example of a saintly country it projects itself to be.

This is not whataboutism, I am just saying he is just as much an asshole as any other world leader. I also believe just like any other leaders mentioned by me he too should be prosecuted if allegations are proven. This even after knowing that the other world leaders won’t be touched even after having a lot of proof against them.

When did Biden as a president overthrow a government? Start a war under false presences? Committed genocide? If you don’t fucking notice, the post is about Biden and Modi, not Bush or Obama.

Modi compared to Biden is a complete fucking asshole and a psycho. Modern Indian foreign politics compared to modern US foreign politics is fucking insane.

When you have to bring up shit that has nothing to do with a current topic, its whataboutism.

The post is about Modi and Biden but my comment was in response to a comment saying Modi is an asshole, not a top comment.

I am merely pointing out he is no more an asshole than any of the other world leaders.

Modern US foreign politics is selling arms to Saudi Arabia who has killed a US journalist and who is using those arms to massacre Yemenis.

Well he’s slightly more. I mean, when the Pakistani government protested extrajudicial killings in their country by the Americans, the Americans didn’t whine and retaliate politically like little crybullies, they basically said “yeah we hellfired some terrorists in your ungovernable backcountry. Whaddayagonnadoaboudit eh?”

Well that was Pakistan and it was US when is ever the world going to sanction US or is going to support a country supporting terrorists like it is doing now with India and Canada which is supporting a violent terrorist organisation that has caused frequent attacks on opposing journalists, politicians, places of worship, consulates; bombing of an aeroplane.

Watch as Canada’s so-called allies do jack shit because relations with India, a rising power they can use to futilely attempt to encircle China, are clearly more important than relations with a close ally that’s fought for them, lost domestic industries for them, soured international relations for them, and has been their largest trading partner for decades.

Seriously, what the fuck? The US has had an incredibly weak position on this ordeal that’s entirely unexpected from such a close ally and feels far more like something coming out of Germany or France - aligned by being part of the West but not in terms of actual interests. This is what the US has said publicly:

“They are certainly serious allegations, and we believe in order to determine how credible they are, there needs to be a thorough investigation. Prime Minister Trudeau has called for that, and so we’ll see how Canada moves forward on this. It’s certainly well within their capacity to do this, and we urge India as well to participate and cooperate in that investigation. It is important to find out exactly what happened.”

I’m sorry, but what the fuck? We’re talking about a country violating our territorial integrity to commit an assassination in a dense and developed suburb of one of our largest urban centers. This investigation has been going on for months. This isn’t some backwater in the middle of Nunavut; this is Surrey: the second largest city in the Lower Mainland. It’s not like murders around here are all that common: in 2022, we saw four murders (with most crime being gang-related).

Our allies are leaving us out to dry solely because, despite our history of being their steadfast ally, we don’t provide them as much utility as this shiny new country that wasn’t relevant until it suddenly was because the Soviet Union collapsed, they pulled out of the Middle East, and they declared China to be the new big bad.

There’s no way Canada would make its accusations public without proof. The US, very foolishly thinks it can make Modi’s India its stooge in its fight with China just like it did to Pakistan in its war against Russia & Afghanistan. Looks what happened to that alliance.
Modi is a dictator guided solely by personal ambition. The US govt forgets that even though China has invaded India and routinely threatens India’s territorial sovereignity, Modi has allowed it to become India’a 2nd largest trade partner., to benefit his oligarchs., political donors, and himself. He will not side with the US against China, but will try to milk US’s need for allies to prop himself while doing Chinas bidding.

The US is trying to create another Pakistan by appeasing Modi, which is why they’re ignoring his ongoing genocide of Muslims & Christians in India, and now his assassination of Sikhs abroad.

Do either China or India actually care about what happens around Aksai Chin? Nobody lives there and no country is stupid enough to attack over the Himalayas anyway. I always got the vibe that it’s a dick-measuring staring contest that started because the British fucked up their pull out of the region.

It’s not like China actually expects Arunachal Pradesh given that they have basically no ability to project power over the Himalayas and it’s not like India actually expects Aksai Chin given that they also have basically no ability to project power over the Himalayas.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

Sept 21 (Reuters) - U.S. President Joe Biden and other leaders expressed concern to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the G20 summit this month about Canadian claims that New Delhi was involved in the murder of a Sikh separatist leader in Canada, the Financial Times reported on Thursday.

Several members of the Five Eyes — an intelligence-sharing network that includes the U.S., the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand — raised the June killing in British Columbia of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a Sikh separatist leader, with Modi, the newspaper said, citing three people familiar with the discussions at the summit.

The summit was held in India days before Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made his allegations public in an address to the Canadian parliament earlier this week.

The leaders intervened at the G20 summit after Canada urged its allies to raise the case directly with Modi, the newspaper reported.

U.S. national security adviser Jake Sullivan said earlier on Thursday that the U.S. is in touch with Indians at high levels following Ottawa’s claims about the murder of the Sikh separatist leader in Canada, and Washington is giving India no “special exemption” in the matter.

The situation has put some Western nations in a tough position as Canada has been a long-standing partner and ally while those countries are also seeking to build strong ties with New Delhi to counter the influence of China in the Asia Pacific region.
