That’s because it’s speed dating (says at the top) so you are picking a partner like a menu item
It always bothers me in a similar way that she always says something like she realy has interesst in the man but her body language says the complete opposite.

I think it would make more sense to me if instead of him turning around talking to who knows who it was an internal thought bubble.
