Was just coming in to explain this. There’s a ton of context that these articles/videos are leaving out.
However, it’ll still be interesting to watch and see how much they are able to use the evidence of “this person uses Signal, Tor, etc.” in court to prove their guilt. I’m not familiar with the French legal system, but I’m hoping that these security practices aren’t going to be used as evidence of guilt. That would be a troubling sign.
So? There’s a good answer for that comment at the comments too. Even if the accusation is true, it doesn’t mean the point doesn’t stand for us, normal users. And doesn’t make the article’s point instantly untrue.
