This is like the little 3 year old trying to pay for his candy with monopoly money at the supermarket.
Were it not posted to a whole forum of cybersecurity professionals this could’ve done some damage; most effectively if it had been targeted correctly at children.
Thankfully the recipients were a room full of adults.
Kind of.
Don’t assume everyone perusing the forum is knowledgeable about cybersecurity, let alone a professional.
Ffs, I’m there & very very clueless, and though I wouldn’t have been lured by this, it is likely that there are subscribers who are considerably more naive than I who might fall for such a thing & there’d even be some who’d click in the erroneous belief that nothing dodgy would be posted there.
Meantime, stupid children do attempt to learn how to obtain & deploy these things. Most remain stupid, or just grow out of the desire to run malicious hacks, but some develop actual skills, including in assessing how to select targets.
