I have non-licensed Lego sets from 1995 that cost $0.24 per brick at the time (inflation adjusted) while currently most comparable sets like City and the like are around $0.10 per brick.
If they didn’t have so much branded bullshit maybe their sets would be affordable.
Harry Potter and St@r W@rz ruined their Castle and Space sets.

The pre-HP and pre-SW Lego Castle and Space sets had more pieces and better designs. They were superior and more dynamic sets.
