Summer is too hot, winter is too cold, spring is full of allergines. I guess that leaves fall?
Copy/paste (and a small edit) from a previous comment of mine on another community:
Winter. By far. No bugs to fly in my face. No sweat to make me mad. No yard work. And everything seems much quieter. Oh, I can’t wait! The jackets and blankets hug me! I like to snuggle in but in the summer it’s impossible. Although, I love my veggie garden…
Shoveling is worse than cutting the grass?
I prefer shoveling snow (and snowblowing). Takes about half the time of my yard and is only about 10-12 times all winter in my area. My yard is usually every 4-6 days.
Well… I pay a neighbor to shovel my walk for me.
Sorry your majesty. I didn’t realize I was talking to the queen of England!
The queen has risen and moved to the midwest?
See, we all knew she couldn’t actually die.
Same, winter is best. I can always put more layers on to combat the cold. There’s limit to how much I can take off when it’s hot.
Definitely Fall for me. It’s a great time of year if you’re a gardener- finally seeing the literal fruit of your labors. The fall festivals are fun and the weather is typically perfect for a street fest. Mosquitoes die at some point so great for get togethers with a small- or large- fire. Plus I confess I am fond of winter being a birdwatcher and loving the snow when I don’t have to drive in it. So the expectation during Fall makes me pretty psyched.
They’re all so good when they’re at their best!
Spring - New leaves and baby birds
Summer - Big storms and lots of sun
Fall - Sweater weather and harvest
Winter - Quiet fluffy snow and snowmenAll good. All valid.
This is me. There is something great about every season here. If you’re not feeling good in a season figure out how to adjust your wardrobe or habits.
Wardrobe and habits can’t help me in summer when I have to leave the house in work appropriate attire.
Similar things can be said about the problems I have with winter and spring.
Birds are the worst part of the year. Always chirping at an ungodly hour and waking you up before your alarm goes off. Working is already bad enough without needing that.
Fall is the best. Followed by Winter.
Fall for sure. I love it when the weather starts cooling off (but isn’t too cold yet) and the air starts getting that nice, crisp feeling to it.
Where I am, I feel like we barely have any kind of fall season anymore. It seems to go straight from a long-ass summer to a mild winter, like Halloween is regularly in the 70s or 80s even. Fall used to be my favorite season but I think it’s probably winter now due to it being the only time of year it is actually kind of cold.
Winter is pretty sad, now. The stores around here just stopped selling sleds because there’s never much snow, or it hits the ground and melts. So it’s just dreary cold and grey and mud for about 5 months and then finally spring shows up, but not before faking you out a couple times so you get caught in the cold without a coat at least once.
Spring doesn’t really show up either. It’s like 30s/40s, then 80s.
Then winter, yeah. Really bad snow when it comes then melted after two days. We didn’t even have piles in the parking lots anywhere.
I feel like some of the “global warming is a hoax” types have started talking a little quieter since the truth has been cockslapping them in the face for what, twenty years now? It’s probably wishful thinking, but they aren’t laughing it off quite so easily now that they haven’t seen an unbroken month of snowfall in a dog’s age.
Nah, they still talk just as loudly as ever. They just transitioned to wanting to kill trans people.
Summer is now smoky I guess.
I’d say the fall or late summer. It’s just a very cozy time of year. Fall is chilly but not so much that I want to stay indoors all the time.
Autumn (fall). Many of the most interesting crops are just being harvested. The weather is not too hot and the life-sucking nor’ westers have ceased. Days are mild and settled, sometimes punctuated by brief storms (I like thunderstorms). Some days have that crisp, clear air that signifies winter is on the way, and you use it as an excuse to light the fire for the first time and cosy up. That our fungus friends also feel this way about Autumn is just the icing on the cake.
I love fall. Part of it’s probably because I grew up in California and that’s the season we never got anything like, but it’s also just so comfortable and I love the whole aesthetic.
Can confirm, leaves do fall

Late fall/early winter- think October/November. If we’re lucky in Missouri, we can get a good snow in November, and the weather is perfect for blue jeans and flannels. Spring is too humid and tumultuous and summer is a smoky sauna.
