Hello World,

Today, after careful consideration and evaluation of recent events, we have decided to defederate from Lemmygrad.

Regrettably, we have observed a significant increase in hate speech and calls to violence originating from the Lemmygrad instance. Due to the severity of the posts and comments, we are not waiting for the next Lemmy update that will allow users to block instances.

At Lemmy.world, we have always strived to foster an inclusive and welcoming user environment. However, recent posts and comments from Lemmygrad have clearly violated our server rules and, more importantly, our core values. We firmly believe that hate speech and incitement of violence have no place in our community, regardless of personal beliefs or affiliations.

As always, we encourage all users to report any content they deem inappropriate or harmful. No matter one’s stance in any conflict, Lemmy.world will always take immediate action to remove and ban any posts or comments that incite violence or propagate hatred.

We encourage everyone to continue engaging in discussions within the boundaries of respect and understanding. As we move forward with this decision, we remain committed to providing all community members with a safe and welcoming space. We appreciate your continued support and cooperation in upholding our shared principles.

Thank you,

The Lemmy.World Team

Lost all respect for lemmygrad when they deleted a comment i made about voting for the lesser of 2 evils being the correct course of action to advance the interests of the Prolitariat in the United States. They care more about larping as revolutionaries than enacting change that actually helps the Working Class.

Yuuuup. The phrases “harm reduction” and “multi-pronged approach” just really piss them off for some reason.

I saw a lot of disapproval when California increased the fast food worker minimum wage and when Newsom signed the bill to increase sick days to 5. Yeah, they aren’t where I ideally would want them to be but this is a nice win. The “revolution” doesn’t happen over night but gradually democratically.

And amount of things Biden has done regarding unions and still bashing him for it. If Bernie did half those things people would be going crazy in the streets celebrating the “revolution”.

I think the point of a revolution is, that it is sudden and over night. Otherwise it’s called a reform. Not saying i disagree with anything else you said, just pointing out the semantics :P

And why I put it in quotes. A lot of lefties want people to go into the streets and riot and loot and march against corpos but that just isn’t the reality of it.

Leading the revolution from the $3,500 custom-built gaming rig their white upper middle class parents bought them, and while pursuing a degree that 99.99% of the working class would never end up in a job requiring it.

You’re statistically more likely to advance your own interests through direct action than by being one of hundreds of millions of voters. Licking the boot of the lesser of two evils is less productive than focusing on building the environment you want.

It literally takes 5 minutes to go vote for most Americans, less if you early vote. If that is keeping you from doing direct action the other 364 days of the year you are just looking for an excuse to sit on your hands. The 2 are not mutually exclusive lol, lmao even.

Highly dependent on your state. Voting is (by design) extremely difficult if not impossible in some areas.

But I agree with your overall point, I just thought that was worth keeping in mind.

Well, most of the time if you’re gonna vote you wanna be aware of what you’re voting for beyond “lemmy told me Sandra Buttocks is super cool and against electric guillotines for the poor”. Takes some time to evaluate people, parties and ideas properly. I was kind of obsessed with that “evaluation”, thought it was productive. Going to protests, being one in the hive, realized later I hadn’t built a life and a career that would support me well. Swapped my priorities and now I earn well as a software engineer, am building a new life I thought wasn’t possible for my family, moved them to another county instead of trying to replace the dictators cuz that’s less realistic. Simple shit that builds up. Want free healthcare? Move to free healthcare. More efficient than crying for it and becoming bankrupt.

I dont have enuogh context to judge whos in the right if anyone. You expressed a staple liberal perspective, one socialists strongly disagree with. Unless you were angsty, minipulitive or abusive, theres no valid reason to delete another’s opinion the way you claimed they did. I think defederation of 2 reasonable groups from eachother is bad because ideas and culture becomes badly inbread for both sides.

      Edit: lemmygrad isn’t reasonable
