“ Manchester City have pulled out of the race to sign Declan Rice, leaving the path clear for Arsenal to complete a £105m deal for the West Ham midfielder.

Arsenal lodged a third offer of £100m plus £5m in add-ons on Tuesday night and are in talks with West Ham over the structure of the deal. City had a £90m bid rejected earlier in the day and do not want to go that high.”

If the only other bidder has pulled out you’d think they wouldn’t need to offer more money to secure the deal.

City won’t over spend on players these days and after our first two bids were rejected I’m guessing City took a chance and submitted a bid hoping to poach the deal. City doesn’t need to spend that much, nor do they need to waste time dealing with Sullivan and his outrageous demands.

West Ham are being difficult, and all the power to them. We have finally met their demands and now being the only team to meet them we should see this ordeal come to a close hopefully by the weekend or just after. We need Rice, so the price is easy to justify, although it is expensive.

Overall this deal was probably ours to lose, and I’ll be glad when it’s all over and done.
